Clara Atkins-Pope is the owner and Master Instructor of The Studio of Piano Fine Arts, Inc. located in Harlan, Kentucky. 

 Pleasant Mountains Publishing is the vehicle Clara uses to publish her musical compositions for harp, piano, organ, violin, and voice.  Clara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Centre College, where she graduated as a Music Major. 

The Studio of Piano Fine Arts was established by Clara in 1980, to bring private music lessons to the children of the Eastern Kentucky Coalfields. To learn more about the Private Music Studios Clara is working to establish in Eastern Kentucky, visit her website www.pianofinearts.com.

 Clara's writings about music, its importance in the life of community as well as in settings of healing, have been published in The Harp Therapy Journal, and  local newspapers. 

 Clara is a founding member of the non-profit organization Pleasant Mountains Performing Arts and Artists' Association, Inc., which provides musical scholarships for students with a "burning desire' to learn to play an instrument, but whose family is without the financial means.  This organization is also the "parent organization" for The Artists' Attic, located in the Harlan County Courthouse, showcasing the works of local visual artists, sculptors and painters.   Please visit this website at www.artist-attic.net.
